“He gives the kids free samples, because he knows full well,
That today’s young innocent faces, will be tomorrow’s…..clientele”
-Tom Lehrer (The Old Dope Peddler)
Since the link from Stranger Fruit seems to be sending a few book nuts this way, I thought I’d share a resource. Eric Flint describes the purpose of the Baen Free Library in a way that boils down to good old marketing. Free samples to get you hooked. For the most part you will find the first one or two books from a given author’s multi-work series.
This is Sci Fi / Fantasy schlock for those of you that like that sort of thing. Each book is provided in a variety of formats so it should fit your electronic reading needs.
I’ll also note that Tor (Tor.com) is working a model whereby you sign up for an emailing list and they give you access to a new electronic book every week. Cool beans.

Quoting Tom Lehrer-
You must be my long lost twin. Among my many secret talents is singing the ‘New Math’ in both base 10 and base 8…

Yes, Oh Yes.
I have a mind full of completely useless knowledge of these songs. A Christmas carol, the Masochism tango, the Vatican rag, who’s next?, poisoning pigeons in the park, fight fiercely Harvard… and on and on … you name it.
