The Census quick facts sheets report the following:
USA: 72.4% white, 12.6% black, 16.3% report Hispanic or Latino origin.
Iowa: 91.3% white, 2.9% black, 5% report Hispanic or Latino origin.
NH: 93.9% white, 1.1% black, 2.8% report Hispanic or Latino origin.
This is hardly news. But it IS pretty damn screwed up that two totally unrepresentative states have such a disproportionate impact on who is a viable candidate for President. This is even before we get to their generally conservative leaning populations, lack of dense urban living and a host of other factors.

But, but, but…. Live free or DIE, man!
I think those states are just fine for picking the best Republican. As this is likely an uncontested race on the D side, NBD this year.
I can’t help but think that if Romney wins in NH, it will be because of a substantial “The Bastahd we know” vote, though.
Yes but I still cling to the hope that despite the overall dumbfuckedness of NH (no offense to any present or their families), there is a faint glimmer of Yankee hard nosedness that finds some of these nutters just too far beyond the pale of reasonableness. Then again, NH Repubs are trying to pass a bill to require all legislation be based in the Magna Carta so…..
Oh, and someone objecting to my Iowa bashing submits the following for consideration
