Oh man. I’m late on this but the great Sheldon Brown, guru of all that is bicycle tech, passed away on Sunday 2/3. Dave Moulton has a nice entry as does VeloNews.
It’s all a 20+ year old blur to me now, but did you ever do the Wells Avenue (Newton MA) sunday training races with me? There was always some bearded freaky guy riding a fixed gear toward the back of the ‘B’ pack. I have to presume that was Sheldon himself.
Bummed at the passing.
I didn’t do this one, no. Never ran across the man in person myself, just the online persona. A big loss in communicating bike-tech in a user friendly way..
